Went exploring with Hannah, Holly and Nicola. We drove to an 'abandoned village' in Adel, Leeds, which I have been hearing lots about. It included a church, school and indoor swimming pool. Did some research and found out it was named Eastmoor school, which first opened in 1857 as the Leeds Reformatory for Boys, later becoming Eastmoor Approved School.
I really enjoyed this experience. At first I was very nervous and wasn't sure how I’d pull off photographing indoors using natural light. I knew I'd have to use a higher ISO because of the lowlight situations. I used 800 and 1600 but found out when uploading my pictures that there was a lot of noise/grain and a decrease in sharpness. Although my pictures looked good on my camera screen, on my computer they looked blurred and pixilated. This was a bit of a disappointment but made me understand what noise looked like in photographs and why it happens. In the future I will find a balance between ISO, aperture and shutter speed to reduce noise.
Pictures can easily be ruined by noise. After talking to a friend I was informed that photo imaging software can eliminate noise by a few simple steps. Below shows how to do so using Photoshop
A few things tips to help prevent noise:-
* Avoid Zooming in too far. Zooming can increase image noise. * Fast shutter speed. When using a high shutter speed, try using flash. *Photoshop. Darkening layers.
