Introduction

When first receiving this brief, I felt a wave of nerves. Communication Technology did not go well for me last year. I didn't have a clue what I was doing and didn't really see the point to it. I feel that this brief was explained differently and in a way, easier. I understand that this brief allows me to test out a technology I am interested in and hopefully learn a great deal about it. At first I was interested in focusing on paper making but after a few productive sessions I realized that this would not be quite as beneficial to me as other subjects. Although I did enjoy producing paper, I felt that I would probably not be using these skills in the future. It wasn't something that I could benefit from with the career ideas I had in mind.

I have decided to focus on digital photography and all its aspects. Throughout the next two months i will be exploring this technology. I will also be completing mini projects where I will be experimenting with different kinds of Digi photography, starting with sports photography. I have a real interest in Photography and especially studio photography. Photographing people has always been exciting for me and hope to learn the best ways to do this. I have decided to focus on DSLR cameras because I feel they are more up to date and since technology is growing rapidly, it would be smart to learn the latest technology.

The 3 main things I want to achieve over this project:-

• Learn simple functions on a DSLR and how using these functions on manual can change a photograph.
• Exploring the many kinds of digital photography e.g. studio photography
• A basic understanding of digital photography as a practice.
